Peggy Steiner

Peggy Steiner comes from a musical family: her grandfather was General Manager of the Staatsoperette Dresden, and her mother and grandmother were prima donnas in Berlin and Dresden. She studied at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler and took masterclasses with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. She has performed leading roles in Der Freischütz, La clemenza di Tito, Die Fledermaus, and the title role in Countess Maritza and Smetana’s Bartered Bride. She has appeared with the Komische Oper Berlin, the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden, and the Berliner Philharmoniker.
