 | Soprano Mónika Fischl started her career at the Hungarian State Opera and would continue on to singing in opera houses all over Europe. She has performed many famous lyric-coloratura roles such as Gilda (Rigoletto), Norina (Don Pasuale), Frasquita (Carmen), Queen of the Night (Magic Flute) and Violetta (La Traviata). Her most famous role, which she has performed over 300 times, has been the character of Sylvia from Kalman's Csárdáskirálynő. As a member of the Budapest Operetta Theatre she has sung the most primadonna roles ever for the theatre's operetta productions. The Bayreuth Summer Festival (Germany) and Teatro Verdi Genova (Italy) are just some of the many festivals and theatres where Ms. Fischl has participated. She has gained also incredible success in Vienna and Mörbisch (a city known for its largest open-air festival in the world). She has also appeared in German television productions playing the leading role in Gypsy Princess which led her to receive the Artis-Jus reward. Salute to Vienna is thrilled to have this wonderful soprano returning again as a regular guest. |
